David is the head of Sheng & Co. His areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, licensing and regulatory advisory, entertainment, digital asset, renewable energy project advisory and other corporate commercial transactions.
David has advised domestic and international clients in transactions involving companies in industries such as aviation, insurance, fund management, renewable energy, healthcare, online marketplace platforms, commodities and oil and gas.
David has also advised renewable energy companies on various EPCC contracts, Power Purchase Agreements and Operation and Maintenance Agreements for solar power projects.
WORK HIGHLIGHTS
- Advised a Malaysian biotechnology company on its acquisition of a medical device manufacturing company with a transaction value of RM11 million together with its investment round where it has raised an investment of RM25 million.
- Advised a public company listed on the Singapore Exchange, in its strategic acquisition of a Singapore-based engineering company and its wholly-owned Malaysia subsidiary, with a total transaction value of approximately SGD9.6 million.
- Advised a Singaporean online classified marketplace company on its joint venture exercise with an established local player to conduct vehicle inspections and trading of second-hand motor vehicles in Malaysia.
- Advised the liquidator of a public listed confectionary company on the disposal of various assets such as property, machinery and intellectual property rights relating for a total transaction value of RM70 million.
- Advised BCP Asia Fund I L.P. on its strategic investment in Project Studio Sdn. Bhd., which owns seven (7) business entities in Malaysia, operating the trade name called “The Flow Studio – Yoga & Pilates”.
